If you landed on this page then you are probably looking for a social media marketer or you are just interested in the topic. Either ways, you are on the right page. I can’t say I know everything but I know a lot about social media marketing.
A lot of people will tell you they can market your products for you but at the end of the day, you will end up losing instead of making a profit. Most of the time it is because they are not expects when it comes to putting your product in front of the right people.
The reason why you are getting low ROI (Return On Investment) is because you did not consider the small details. What are these small details?
You see, you don’t know who need your product but you have to somehow guess and know those who might be needing your product and the only way to guess that more than 50% accurately is by paying attention to these little details that you have always ignored.
Before you start marketing your product, you have to note down a few things.
1. What is your product about?
First you have to know what your product is about to begin with.
Is your product a service? Is it consumer goods? Is it a digital product? Is your product meant to solve a problem? What type of problem is it going to solve? How is your product going to help someone?
Asking yourself those questions will make you simply know the type of people you should target with your product. Knowing what your product is about, will help you determine the type of people to market the product to.
Sometimes the mistake most people make is just guessing that throwing the product in front of everybody in the world will make those who are interested automatically see it and buy. Ask yourself; “What if those who are not interested or don’t need your product are the first to see it?” That means you are going to lose because you are actually paying a third-party to put the product in front of the mass and the mass are not interested in the product, bear with me you will pay for every single person that sees your advert it doesn’t matter whether they buy it or not.
It is very import to know what your product is about to know which people will be interested in the product.
2. What is the name of your product?
You will bear with me if I tell you name matters in every aspect of life. That is the reason why each of us in this world have very unique names. That is the same thing with products and branding as a whole.
The name of your product should always carry a bit of detail meant as a description to anyone who sees the name of your product.
Let me give you an example: Assuming you named your product ORS, one person might think you are talking about “Online Registration System” mean while your product is about “Oral Rehydration Solution“. The name of your products is the key to making sales. If you don’t name your product well a lot of people will just keep skipping it.
3. Branding (Logo/Ad thumbnail/banners,etc)
Not everybody is so lazy but 90% of internet users won’t waste time checking out your product if your Logo/banner/thumbnail doesn’t communicate anything meaningful to them.
Your banner especially thumbnail that will be used for your social media should communicate something to the audience you are targeting. Social media marketing relies a lot on good communication skills.
Nobody will waste time reading a 1,000 characters long text on banner before getting idea what you are trying to communicate. I know a friend who can get any target audience’s attention with just 20 characters long text.
Your banner and logo should be more professional and unique. A lot of the internet users are so conscious about scammers so if there is nothing professional about your branding, then you are going to be tagged with a name you don’t deserve.
These are the three most important things you should consider when marketing your product on social media. These are the little details that will determine which people you should be targeting with your product. From here on, the rest of the job is for expects.
There is no product in this world right now that hasn’t got its audience on the internet. All you need is to know how to use the platforms on the internet to put your product in front of the right customers.
