The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is a great addition made to the Samsung Galaxy series in the early part of 2015.

Announced in March 2015 and released the following month, in April 2015, the Galaxy S6 Edge is the curved version of the Galaxy S6.

Its performance is likened to Apple’s iPhone 6s. And in most cases, users have also reviewed it to be a better option than the Apple iPhone 6.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has a sleek body design. It comes with 142.1 x 70.1 x 7 mm body dimensions and weighs around 132g. The phone has pieces of the Corning Gorilla Glass 4 covering both the front and back. It also comes with an Aluminium frame to give it a beautiful shiny appearance.

There are seven versions of the phone on the market. They are the  G925F for the Global market, G925FQ for Turkey,  G925I for India, G925A  for the AT&T version,  G925T for the T-mobile version, G925S/K/L for Korea and G9250  for China.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has a wonderful screen display. It uses the Super AMOLED display with a 5.1 inches display size. The screen resolution is 1440 x 2560 pixels.

All versions of the phone run on the Exynos 7420 Octa Chipset and the Android 5.0.2 version which is upgradable to version 7.0.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge comes with an octa-core CPU. It uses the Mali-T760MP8 GPU.

MEMORY AND CAMERA

For a phone that was initially announced about half-decade ago, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge’s 3GB RAM is a cool deal. It also comes in 3 Memory sizes. The 32GB, 64GB and 128 GB. All memory sizes run with a 3GB RAM.

Unfortunately, the phone doesn’t have an external memory card slot. It uses a single nano-sim and so does not make room for external cards.

The rear or main camera for this phone comes with a singular 16MP lens. It has a panorama mode, auto-HDR and LED flashlight. It also produces video output with the following qualities; 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60fps, 720p@120fps, HDR, stereo sound rec., OIS, gyro-EIS.

The Selfie Camera isn’t a bad one either. It comes with a single camera with a 5MP lens. The selfie camera has Dual Video Call and Auto-HDR features. It also produces video with 1440p@30fps quality.

BATTERY AND OTHER FEATURES

If you are seeking a phone with a strong battery, then Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is a wrong choice. In today’s era where phones have up to 5,500 MaH battery capacity, the S6 Edge is a loser. It has a battery capacity of 2,600 MaH. Like all other smartphones, it comes with a Li-Ion battery.

It supports Fast Charging at 15W and also supports Qi wireless charging. It has a Talktime capacity of up to 18 hours and music play capacity of up to 50 hours.

Interestingly, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has almost all features of the latest Samsung Phones. It has Fingerprint (front-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, heart rate, SpO2, S-Voice natural language commands and dictation.

The phone also supports Wi-fi, hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS, Infrared and USB. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with an in-built radio App. Meaning, you would have to download a radio app if you need one.
