Spotify In Ghana Now – Good News For Ghanaian Musicians

Spotify which is one of the major streaming platforms in the world has finally whitelisted Ghana. Not Long ago Ghana was on the Blacklist so Ghanaians were not able to stream songs, visit or even get the Spotify app in the Appstore or Playstore.

Spotify is in Ghana so those who wanted to use it badly can finally use it all they want. You don’t have to use any VPN or make someone create an account for you outside Ghana.

The app is in the Playstore that you can download from Playstore here for Android users and Appstore for iPhone users. You can also visit their website here.

Premium Spotify Packages

There is a free account that allows you to stream the songs directly online with an active internet connection but this free account unlike Boomplay has even more limitations.

  • Free: This gives you access to stream songs over the internet with lots of limit and advert breaks.
  • Premium Individual – GHS 17.00/month : This one gives you access to all premium features including playing your songs or favorite playlists without internet.
  • Premium Student – GHS 8.50/month : This one gives you all premium features with 50% discount for students only. Student ID verification is required.
  • Premium Duo – GHS 22.00/month: This one allows you to use one Premium Subscription on upto two devices.
  • Premium Family – GHS 27.00/month: This one allows you to use one Premium Subscription on upto six devices.

All the above subscriptions come with a free one-month trial for new users only. For now, payment is made only by ATM that is VISA Card, Master Card, or any other ATM card that you have. Subscription is set to auto-renew every month after the free month trial until you cancel.

There is also a Premium Prepaid subscription. This one is more like turning off the Auto-renew option. It’s GHS 18.70. You load the account and pay anytime you want to Subscribe.


Now that Spotify is in Ghana, it is up to our individual artists to get their songs on the platform, promote them and start making some money. It is not an easy task but you have to pull through since that is what you want to do for a living.
