There are many things we do every day on our devices that seem normal. What you don’t know is the fact that Hackers can use this simple routine to rob you of your data.

In this article, I will tell you some of the things we do on daily basis that could get our devices hacked.

1 . Using the same password every time and everywhere

Most of us due to the fear of forgetting our passwords, we tend to use the same password on every website or device we sign up for. To avoid forgetting passwords, we also try keeping the same password as intact as possible. This is a very risky thing to do since you don’t know what others are thinking about you.

Imagine someone seeing your password for Facebook. If the person is able to log into your Facebook account with it, the person could try it with your email and all other platforms they feel you could be using as well.

Keeping one password every time is risky. If you want to keep same password, then try and enable 2Factor-authentication on every platform you will use it.

2. Making your password easy to remember

Making your password easy to remember is also another way someone could get access to them. You might not be the only person who could remember it easily. Imagine using your phone number as password, it means anyone who knows your phone number knows your password.

It is very advisable to use a mix of Alpha-numeric characters in combination with special characters like *,&,%,#,@, etc as your password. This will make it very difficult for people to remember even if they see you typing it.

3. Connecting to Free Public WiFi

Connecting to free public WiFi is one of the things most people like doing. You might think you are surfing or downloading at the expense of somebody’s hard earned data.

What you don’t know is the fact that the locks on the WiFi could’ve been removed just to bait you. Even if it is not a bait, there could be hackers connected to that same network. The only thing they want to do is to steal your data and sell it or use it for fraudulent purposes.

if you are connecting to a public WiFi, make sure you are browsing behind a Proxy/VPN server. This adds a security layer to your WiFi presence.

4. Leaving your Mobile Data Connection On

Leaving your Data connection On is another way hackers could get access to your device. Most of the hacking is done over the internet which means a connection to the internet is required for someone to get access to your device. Most hackers work at night since that is the time you will be asleep and won’t notice what is going on in your account or on your phone.

Leaving your Mobile Data connection On at that time means they can easily transfer any file they want from your phone to themselves without breaking a single sweat.

5. Lending your phone

Lending your phone is one of the most dangerous things to do. Hackers are very secretive and you may not know who might be needing your data for dubious reasons. You might just think you are helping a friend in need but you might actually be giving that person access to install hacking tools on your phone.

6. Clicking and sharing just everything

This is one of the most dangerous things to do. Most hackers use email spamming approach to get to their victims.

By simply clicking on a link, a hacker could get access to your entire mail or computer as a whole. If you see any link, just verify that it is a trusted link before you click.

These are some of the things we do almost every day that could get our devices hacked.
