Membership And Loan Services
This is an academic library so membership is strictly for staff and students of the University of Western Cape.
While membership is free for all users, there are restrictions depending on your membership status.
For instance, there is a number of items each type of library user can borrow. Check the loan service layout below and you will understand what I am talking about.

UWC Library Facilities
Since the library is the main source of information, some facilities must help with resourcing information. The Ukwazi library has lots of facilities to help its users get access to information easily.
Below are some of the library facilities you can make use of.

- There are also computers available at the Knowledge Commons that users can book for their research.
- Differently Abled Support Unit (DASU) is also available to also support persons with disabilities.
- There are online resources and databases for users to access remotely.

There is also online library access where a user can source information. The online resource contains UWC ebooks and links to other Scholarly Journal databases.
The online resources are accessible through the Ukwazi library’s website. The access is strictly by using your UWC iKamva Logins. You can use the same logins you use on the UWC students portal.

What time does the library open?
The UWC Library usually opens from 8:20 AM to 10:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, closing at 8:00 PM on Fridays. On Saturdays, the library opens from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. But the library remains completely closed on Sundays.
